Creatures Of An Exceptional Kind [Paperback]

In both words and illustration, Creature of an Exceptional Kind presents a delightful world for children - a world that extols the virtues of being different. Toulouse Turtle, with his cracked shell, Belinda Bird, whose broken wing will never mend, and Selina Snake, with the missing hiss, assist each other in overcoming their challenges while each contributes a special talent. In Dorthy Whitney's world, as in our own, each creature has value, each is unique, and each needs the other. The author uses simple words and striking art to teach us how we each are different in our ways and in the contributions we can make, yet so alike in our emotional needs.
