To The Ends Of The Earth: Calvin's Missional Vision And Legacy (refo500) [Paperback]

Calvinist missionaries. If you think that sounds like an oxymoron, youre not alone. Yet a close look at John Calvins life and writing reveals a man who was unambiguously passionate about the spread of the gospel and the salvation of sinners. Clearing away longstanding misunderstanding and stereotypes, Michael Haykin and Jeffrey Robinson highlight the fervent Great Commission vigor underlying all of Calvins theology and ministry. From training pastors at his Genevan Academy to sending missionaries to the jungles of Brazil, Calvin consistently sought to encourage and equip Christians for the cause of Christ. This fascinating study shows how Calvin influenced generations of his theological heirsincluding the Puritains, Jonathan Edwards, and Samuel Pearceto take the good news of salvation to the very ends of the earth.
