Footnotes: Six Choreographers Inscribe the Page [Hardcover]

The writings of six choreographers are assembled in this book and the leap they have taken to go from the medium of choreography into written text constitutes a form of translation. Some of the texts investigate the possibilities of written language as invention, others use it as a means to illustrate specific tenets or describe choreographic projects. All yield insight into the process of coaxing language from the body.Part I Context; 1. context; 2. ::, Footnotes; Part II Exegetical Romp; 3. exegetical romp, elena alexander; Part III Text; 4. im dancing, douglas dunn; 5. cover(t) stories, marjorie gamso; 6. three texts, ishmael houston-jones; 7. autobiopathy, kenneth king; 8. the shining, yvonne meier; 9. paradise remixed, sarah skaggs;Authored by Alexander, Elena; Johnston, Jill; Dunn, Douglas; Gamso, Marjorie; Houston-Jones, Ishmael; King, Kenneth; Meier, Yvonne; Skaggs, SarahUS? 1998 OPA (Overseas Publishers Association) N.V.
