A gardening book is a very personal glimpse into the mind of the author, so you may be interested to know a bit more about me and my philosophy regarding gardening. I am a lifelong resident of the Southeast, having grown up in south-central Virginia. Unlike those lucky folks who talk about gardening as a child at the side of their grandmother, I did not find my passion for horticulture until I went to college in the mountains.
