Hams Beneath the Firmament: Poems [Paperback]

Hams Beneath the Firmament, Terri Fords second books of poems, is a portrait-at-a-gallop, a series of drive-by rhymes, a lively foray into the jello of elsewhere. It is a book with sex, with budgies, with kissing the dead, and with Mid western livelihoods, with counting asymptomatic / years. A more rambunctious collection of poems does not exist, its inkity blue skies and the way the wild-eyed speak // of the rapture spectacularly its own. TERRI FORDs first book of poems, Why the Ships Are She, was published by Four Way Books in 2001. A fellow at Bread Loaf Writers Conference, most recently, her poems have appeared in Agni, Cincinnati Poetry Review, Conduit, Forklift Ohio, and Ploughshares, among others, as well as in the anthology, Poetry Daily: The Best from the Worlds Most Popular Poetry Website (2003). She has received fellowships from The Kentucky State Arts Council, Kentucky Foundation for Women, and the Ohio State Arts Council. She currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and works for a law firm.
