The Fantastic Strange is an illustrated novel of poetry and prose about a man who discovers his true self and his role in the world during a visit to a mysterious circus. After his father's death, Heinrich is distraught and aimless in the world until he wanders off a little too far. In an open prairie, a train lumbers by on tracks Heinrich has never seen before and he hops aboard. Thus begins his journey to a circus lead by the Great Mephisto, a man whose fantastical history is strange and tragic, who shows Heinrich what it means to be truly great in this life.
