This book looks at the challenges of restructuring services and working with people with different training and working practices. It suggests that the way staff work together will impact on the service offered to children and their families. It explains how to be an effective member of the team and encourage confident and open communication between colleagues. It looks at what makes an effective team; discusses how the organisational set-up affects the practice positively or negatively; suggests ways for creating listening environments where colleagues can discuss differences; and emphasises the importance of developing professional learning together.Examines how to share ideas and exemplify good practice in multi-professional teams for Early Years Practice.The book contains many useful chapters but not appropriate for any of my modules.The students found this resource useful when researching working with colleagues in the setting. Much of the information was easily accessible as the students could relate to it within their own workplace.Good chapter headings defining areas of Team Working. Overview of change management simplified- cannot be a stand along book but a useful supplementary text.really useful for students to find out about collaborative practice and professionals working together.This book gives a good overview of teamwork and collaboration referring to key theories of Belbin and Tuckman.

Some references made to government guidance have now been superseded.
