Questions And Answers On The Shorter Catechism [Paperback]

John Brown of Haddington's Questions and Answers on the Shorter Catechism is one of the most remarkable and unique doctrinal books ever written. Each question of Westminster's Shorter Catechism prompts numerous questions from the author-over 4400 in all. The author provides remarkably succinct answers, each of which is supported by Scripture. We know of no catechetical work that packs so much Reformed doctrinal truth in such a short compass. Brown is a master at providing pungent, scripturally-based, Christ-centered, sound, and experiential answers that can be understood readily by both older teenagers and adults. We have often turned to this practical work in preparing for teaching catechism class, and have found it more helpful than any other not only in its answers, but also in its questions! If you'd like a succinct handbook that asks thousands of good questions and provides wise and pastoral answers, buy and read this book. Read it slowly-a few pages in an evening will suffice, and then meditate and pray about it. --Joel R. Beeke
