We're Not Gonna Take It: A Children's Picture Book [Hardcover]

My six-year-old and three-year-old have asked to read this book no less than five times since we read it a few days ago. Its hilarious and fun because you can sing it. The repetition of the song had my kids singing right along with me. [Dee Sniders] antiestablishment anthem is reimagined as three diverse toddlers who resist what their parents want them to do. I never imagined the song being relative to toddlers and infants and small children, but the realization was that rebellion is one of our first instincts. We have many first instincts of courselove, and hunger, things like thatbut we also very quickly establish what we want and what we dont want, and what we like and what we dont like. Being rebellious is something born in us and bred in us, and it is at our very core, so seeing those pictures was actually an education for me.
