More than 600 amazing stories from 75 years of Formula 1, written by the legendary F1 reporter Peter Nygaard.

The Formula 1 World Championship celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025. The sport’s rich history is full of great drivers, spectacular cars and exciting races. These and many more crazy and fascinating stories are covered inThe Alternative History of F1.

Author Peter Nygaard has attended more than 700 F1 races since 1974 and written several 30 books about motor racing.Peter Nygaardcovered his first Formula 1 Grand Prix back in 1982 and has since been one of the regular photographers in motorsport’s premier class. Nygaard never misses a Grand Prix, and in addition to his own photographs, he has continuously acquired image archives from colleagues, allowing him to cover the history of Formula 1 all the way back to its beginning. Nygaard is well-liked and respected within the Formula 1 paddock and the F1 organization, which has led to him supplying a wide range of images for the official F1 Exhibition — a traveling showcase dedicated to Formula 1.
