Collecting all of acclaimed cartoonist Jordan Cranes short stories (from self-published zines and anthologies such as Maybe the most beautiful piece of art I held in my hands this year, Cranes candy-colored story collection stretches the comics form into a dozen delightful shapes. An astonishingly beautiful book with varying paper stocks and an enigmatic, but dazzling, exposed spine. A must-have for all Crane fans. Absolutely gorgeous, and the physical book design is ambitious in a way Im not sure Ive ever seen before... Theres a sense of compulsive readability to This I just loved. It's my kind of story. When comics, especially Fantagraphics, put out anthologies like this it's a nice break from the norm. The best book design of 2025.
