Silvello Betti was born in Gavorrano, Italy, in 1958. He received a Master of Science cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the University La Sapienza of Rome. In 1985 he joined Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, where he was engaged with the Optical Communication Group as researcher. In 1998 he joined the University of LAquila (Italy), where he was Associate Professor of Electrical Communications. In 2001 he joined the University of Rome Tor VlcZ
