The Bookmarked series focuses on a famous work of literature that left a powerful impression on an author (hence the name, Bookmarked—a book that left its mark). Each entry in the series will be a no-holds-barred personal narrative detailing how a particular novel influenced an author on their journey to becoming a writer, as well as the myriad directions where that journey has taken them.

Kirby's previous novel, Ghosting (2012) was reviewed in the New York Times and received a starred review in Publishers Weekly, among many other honors. We should be able to use this to get attention for this, the first book in the Bookmarked series.
A Separate Peace is a seminal novel, and this will be an important addition to the literature on the book.
This title should appeal to fans of John Knowles, as well as academics who use his work in their classes.
