Professor Art Padilla teaches and writes about organizational leadership and strategy. He currently serves as the head of the Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (MIE) department at NC State where he oversees the work of 30 faculty and staff members.?Before returning to his alma mater, Dr. Padilla served as academic vice president in the 16-campus University of North Carolina, administering the review and establishment academic programs and centers across the 16 campuses. Since returning to Raleigh, he has served as Executive Assistant to the Chancellor and Secretary of the University.
In 2006, the NC State Board of Trustees unanimously awarded Dr. Padilla the Holladay Medal (named after the university's first president), the foremost honor a faculty member may receive for contributions in teaching, research, and public service.
