Vijay Sood received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Bradford, UK, in 1977. He is currently a Professor at Ontario Tech University, Canada. Previously, he was a senior researcher at the Research Institute of Hydro-Quebec (IREQ, Montreal). He has extensive experience in the simulation of HVDC-FACTS systems and their controllers. He has authored two textbooks on HVDC transmission. His research focuses on the monitoring, control, and protection of power systems and on the integration of renewable energy systems into smart grids. Dr. Sood is a Registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, and Emeritus Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He served previously as a Director of the IEEE Canadian Foundation and as a former Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, and Co-editor of the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Power series for River Publishers. Krishna Murari received the B.Tech degree in electrical engineering from WBUT, India, in 2010, the M.E degree in power systems from Thapar University, India in 2014, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2019. He currently serves as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, USA. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York. He has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Energy Production, and Infrastructure Center (EPIC), University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. He ilsÅ
