Against the Tide is a tale of two souls whose passionate love stemmed from their connection and long distance correspondence. In order to them to unite they have to overcome the 100 year history of political and religious differences of their two worlds. Side by side with the dramatic love story the book analyzes roles of political fi gures: Repressive policies of Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in Middle East, the Reagan policies as well as roles of such leaders as Homeini and Arafat are described here. The authors goal is to portray and show the unseen moral terror, rather than transparent physical repressions which are more harmful and effects of which will be felt for generations to come.
