Volume 3 lists the names of those mentioned in the charters.A charter of 972 documents that the abbey of St Aubin in Angers in north-western France was founded by King Childebert I in the sixth century. At the behest of the townspeople, but against his will, Abbot Aubin became bishop of the diocese in 529. He was canonised after his death in 560, and the abbey has been known by his name ever since. In this 1903 work, Bertrand de Broussillon (18411915) transcribes and interprets the many charters of the abbey, dating from its foundation period onwards. These charters document both the history of the abbey and that of the region. They also trace the many physical transformations that the abbey experienced through the centuries, and give the names of the people who were associated with it. In Volume 3 de Broussillon gives a complete list of names mentioned in the charters of the abbey up till 1903.Table alphab?tique; Appendice; Errata; Facsimile.
