Prior to that Daniel taught at all levels in several countries, from school to technical institute, and worked as a community media activist, receiving along the way a Distinguished Teaching Award and a Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship. In addition he has been a Visiting Research Fellow at a major telecommunications company and a visiting lecturer at a Brazilian university. Daniel has a PhD in Film and Media Studies from the University of Stirling in Scotland.
