He is the Science Editor forParademagazine and author of several books includingComets: Creators and Destroyers. He also writes the monthly Star Trails column inSky and Telescope. In 1997 he won an Emmy for his writing on the Discovery Channel's documentaryThree Minutes to Impact. He lives in Arizona.
