When I first saw one of Ashley Unbehagen's images of nature, I was deeply moved. She doesn't just take a picture of something--she enters whatever she photographs and brings you into its radiance. In time, we began to produce one of Ashley's photos with a few words of byline by me and sent them out as monthly reflections for my nonprofit, Red Bird Foundation. Now, five years later, it's been a natural progression to collaborate on this collection of words and light, our joint offering of simple things to awaken the inner heart.
