What a Ride! is a look into the life and career of an Australian pilot. His story is a look into a man's experience with the Vietnam war. He does not suffer from post traumatic stress disorder until 20 years later. It was interesting to see how the author grows up on an island (Lord Howe) until the age of 15 and applies to join the Royal Australian Air Force. He is recruited as an apprentice and eventually becomes a pilot. He marries, has 2 children, resigns from the RAAF And enters civilian life with his family. It is then that his PTSD begins to affect his life that eventually causes his divorce. He goes back to Lord Howe Island after this and lives in his childhood home. It is not a dull memoir. It keeps your interest so that you find yourself reading one more page. I liked the pictures that are included in the book. It made me remember how the United States welcomed their retreating Vietnam veterans. -S. Mahaffey, Amazon Review
